/Diet - Weight Loss News Articles/ -- WOODWAY, TX, January 03, 2011, Roger Schmidt, Senior Vice President and Chief General Counsel of Curves International, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in franchise law.

Mr. Schmidt is an expert in franchise law and has worked for Curves International, Inc. since 2001. In his position, he is responsible for managing legal affairs and supervising the legal department for the fitness franchise. He oversees all litigation, infringements, and contracts. He is also an adjunct professor of franchise law at Baylor Law School in Waco, Texas. Mr. Schmidt previously gained experience as general counsel and shareholder in the Olajuwon Group, a multi-unit, multibrand franchisee in the food industry. In addition, he maintained a private law practice in Houston, Texas.

A graduate of the South Texas College of Law, Mr. Schmidt received a JD in 1975. He serves on the board of directors for Curves International, Inc. His numerous professional affiliations include the Texas Bar Association, the Corporate Counsel Committee, the American Bar Association, the Legal Symposium Task Force, and the International Franchise Association. Mr. Schmidt aspires to leave Curves as the largest wellness franchise in the world when he retires.
